Backing Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band on their farewell tour in Liverpool has been one of the many highlights in Jade’s music career so far.
Now in her 21st year in music, Jade has worked with great musicians like James Burton (Elvis), Charlie Lansborough, The Christians, Billy Kinsley from Liverpool Express, The Cavern Club Beatles, Brian “Saxophone” Jones from The Undertakers, The Connie Lush Band and The Gary Murphy Band.
She is currently playing theatres with Eclipse Floyd – The Pink Floyd Experience, Court and Spark – The Joni Mitchell Songbook and The Gary Murphy Band.
Ethereal dreamers SirenSong arrive at West Kirby Live with their immersive and artistic music to entice and intrigue their audience.
Rachael Dunn and Shaun Lanceley were two mainstays of the exciting Liverpool unsigned and acoustic scene and started Sirensong in 2018. Formed as a holistic and artistic expression of themselves they started performing as a way of expressing their creative and dream-like musical ideas. Rachael’s powerful vocal drive and Shaun’s talented musician-ship makes the pairing bounce of one another as the outcome is as infectious as it is relaxing.
Their debut single “Without The Fear” was released earlier this year on Wirral label 72rpm Records. Delicate vocals entwine with serenading strings as SirenSong’s debut is as exciting as it is mysterious. Rolling themes of stormy seas will make their act feel right at home playing West Kirby Live’s Flow Networks Presents The Lake Stage.

The Hard Way Home bring their exquisite country sounds to West Kirby Live for the first time year. Formed in the summer of last year The Hard Way Home are singer-songer writers Karen Turley, Naomi Campbell, Mathew Toner and Robert Johnson. They’re self confessed lovers of Guinness and Harmonies.
Karen and Naomi are both from Northern Ireland but living in Liverpool and both have a passion for music, particularly American Folk and Country. Both have performed around the UK and have performed in country music capital of Nashville. Karen has played in Portugal and Naomi has even travelled to Melbourne, Australia for a show.
The group has has a mixture of influences from the likes of KT Tunstall to Fleetwood Mac and a deep love of Bluegrass, particularly Alison Krauss and Union Station and a fondness of traditional country; Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton & Johnny Cash, to name a few.
Karen has performed solo at West Kirby Live before but this will be the first West Kirby experience of the full group. In 2018 Karen began work on her single ‘New Strings’. Recorded in El Dorado Studios and produced by Anders Johnsen, Karen released the single on all digital platforms in April of 2018.
Naomi has performed with the likes of Lucy Spraggan and will no doubt be an exciting addition to the stellar range of Country and Folk music on offer at West Kirby Live. She self-released her new single It’s You this year too. The band play every week in Liverpool have just came back from playing Country to Coast festival in Portsmouth.
You may recognise the group from a clip that went viral of the group performing an excellent rendition of Jolene by Dolly Parton which you can watch below. More of the same please!
Liverpool rockers The Jjohns (pronounced Johns) arrive at West Kirby Live to bring back the Mersey-beat sound to West Kirby. The band’s sound, laced with harmonies and electric acoustic melodies, is highly influenced by the Mersey-beat era and Liverpudlian bands such as The La’s, Cast, Gerry and the Pacemakers and The Beatles.
The Jjohns released a four-track EP callled Stone Across My Cave in November 2016 plus a self-titled EP released last year on hot new label Modern Sky UK.
Other influential musicians for the band include the Bee Gee’s, The Everly brothers and Buddy Holly: all of whom are all obvious when listening to the bands mixed style of old rock and roll and new Mersey-beat.
There is something really infectious and unashamedly Scouse in their music. Powerful guitar lines bite away with driving melodies with vocals coming from Dom and Mik Dunning giving a strong, cheeky and boisterous input to add both gravitas and attitude to their great rock tracks.
Age is but a number with Tabitha Jade as the young hip-hop hotshot returns to West Kirby Live- this time with a full band behind her. She was the youngest person to ever play Liverpool Sound City aged 14 and has played Hope Fest, Soul Fest, Chester Live and Liverpool’s Threshold Festival too. Having won UK National Song Writing U16 Championship in 2015 being judged by Sony and Universal Records she has became a trailblazer for the young talent in Wirral.
Her soulful vibe wouldn’t be out of place in the Top 40 as she gained airplay from radio stations across the UK including being featured several times on BBC 1Xtra. The live sound is infectious, hip hop funky drum beats, synths, delicious harmonies, and Tabiha’s up front vocals delivering the great songs.
The momentum is building rapidly around Tabitha Jade as she develops her career in London playing many of the UK’s hottest urban venues within the capital and is getting promoted and praised throughout the home of UK grime, garage and hip hop. No doubt a set not to be missed at West Kirby Live.
Scouse singer/songwriter Astles brings something different to West Kirby with his dynamic vocal style, captivating melodies, artistic boldness and a delicate rawness to his sounds.
Contorting and amalgamating different sounds as haunting lyrics combine with ghostly synths with delicate little niggles of intimate acoustic guitar lines, Astles sound is truly innovate and immersive. One not to miss at West Kirby Live!
Speaking on his EP Full Of Wonder, Astles said “I really wanted to be ambitious & create something which really showed the evolution of me as a person & as an artist. The concept behind the EP is the loss of your innocence from growing older. Losing faith in the possibilities of youth and embracing the realities of what is in front of you.”
His EP “Live At The Nordic” was recorded at the beautiful surroundings of Liverpool’s Scandinavian Church with Joy Division producer Michael Johnson. Definitely for fans of Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, Ben Howard and David Gray as his story laden lyrics and immersive acoustic/experimental sound won him Merseyrail Sound Station and LIMF’s one to watch.
Loud, loud and loud (again) are the three words that describe Warrington band The Lotts best. The garage rock foursome arrive at West Kirby Live for the first time this year and aim to shake a few cobwebs off in the process.
Recording their debut EP “Out Of It” at the legendary Rockfield Studios in South Wales- they followed the footsteps of Oasis in the same hall they recorded “Whats The Story? Morning Glory.” Ambitiously and successfully the band recorded the entire EP in one take and straight to tape playing as loudly and raucous as possible.
The band have been together for just over a year wanting to bring a new flavour of music to the current scene from their screaming guitars to their homemade mics made from old telephones. The young lads are making more music every day and have plans of working with Spritualized over their next release to help with production.
Definitely for fans of Idles, The Strokes, White Stripes, Sonic Youth and anything turned up to 11. Check out thier EP- Out Of It below: https://open.spotify.com/album/0MfZ7bJLBQATSXJMH7nwkC
